With this new technology, USANA’s scientists then built on the foundation of the Essentials to formulate the new CellSentials™ supplements. As the last step after extensive in-lab study, but before product release, USANA established a trial study with a select group of Associates. The parameters of the trial were pretty simple: we asked the group to take the new product and see how they felt. Naturally, the Associates who participated in this temporary offering were sworn to secrecy, but now that the technology was officially introduced at the 2016 International Convention, we can share some of the real-world feedback from the user trial. We reached out to Executive 1-Star Diamond Directors and 21-year USANA veterans Tom and Lorie Mulhern about their experience taking the CellSentials and the effect they anticipate the new formulation will have on their business.
TRIAL EXPERIENCE “We were really excited about using the CellSentials,” Lorie says of being included in the trial. “We were also really excited about sharing them with others. It’s been awesome for our team to know that our cells are being renewed even deeper.” “We take a number of USANA products already, and we’re very healthy. That being said, I have felt a little more energy with CellSentials,” Tom says. “We run a pretty hard-paced schedule, so I have noticed that I’m able to keep up better than I was before. I’ve also been able to maintain mental clarity and focus.”* “I would say energy, too,” Lori says. “Energy, clarity, and focus— being able to sustain my thoughts a little longer. You know, being in the game a little bit longer so you don’t have to take breaks as often.”
BEST WAYS TO SHARE “Because people want to know what’s the latest and what’s more advanced, the words I’ve been using to catch people’s interest are ‘cell signaling’ and ‘scientifically advanced formulation,’” Tom says. “When you have something new, especially something that’s as advanced and scientifically based as CellSentials, people seem to be much more interested. We’ve found that people are much more engaged. They want to watch the videos. They’re asking more questions.”
“And they’re excited to hear that they can get nourishment, protection, and renewal all the way down to their cells,” Lorie says. “I think they are intrigued about that idea and get excited about it. The videos really pump them up to take a look, and it also gives a little piece of education to people. So I think that has been really effective as well.” GAINING NEW CUSTOMERS “Just in our team, we’re seeing a lot of new Preferred Customers,” Tom says. “What we’ve told our team is, ‘Just get people to use the product.’ A lot of people are wanting to try the product. Before, there were so many competitors, people were kind of numb to what we were saying. Now they’re not numb any more. They’re listening.”
